Atticus et Audax

“Atticus et Audax” (Johnny Utah) 7yr old 16.1hh finely built Warmblood X gelding registered with NZWBA with scores of Merit. Johnny was recently nominated for the prestigious NZWBA Showjumping Horse of Distinction and is bred by Imogen Neale (same breeder as International WC ShowJumper Central Park)

Along with having the X Factor presence, Johnny is a very genuine and incredibly honest horse with a proven record and results to match. He has been produced through the grades professionally and carefully and is a young horse with plenty of development ahead of him.

Johnny has a great brain, loves his job and is very bold, confident and quick in a jump off. With clear rounds and results up to 1.30m he has an exciting future in the sport, whether that is continuing with an ambitious rider, being an exceptionally competitive Junior/Young Rider horse, Eventer, or continuing to be a Show Hunter champion.

Johnny is much admired in the Show Hunter ring and really excels in this area, scoring up to 90 and currently holds the New Zealand 6yr old ShowHunter title along with many other wins and placings.

Result highlights include:

Auckland Show Jumping 5YO Championship — 1.10–1.15m — Winner & only double clear

Rotorua Show Jumping 6YO Championship — 1.20–1.25m — Winner & only double clear

Winner National Young Horse Show 6YO Show Hunter Title

Winner Hawke’s Bay Young Horse Show 6YO 1.20–1.30m

Winner Eastern Bays 6YO 1.25m

2nd Brookby Amateur Rider

2nd Te Teko Amateur Rider

Johnny has plenty of quality on the flat and is a beautiful mover, which is no surprise given the dressage influence on his dam line.

Johnny is by LC Telepathy, a Grand Prix showjumper by Telegraph, who was winner of the Olympic Cup and World Cup level at 1.60m. LC Telepathy is out of Yadlavie, a Selle Français mare imported from France.

His dam is by Komet von C, a son of the legendary E.H. Gribaldi, sire of Totilas, giving Johnny a great combination of top-level jumping and dressage blood.

Johnny would suit a capable and competitive rider looking for an honest, genuine and quality horse. He is admired wherever he goes and is great to clip, shoe, truck, hack and do anything with. He would really suit being someone’s top horse (or their one and only as he lives for the attention) but is equally easy and sane enough to be a first hack for a competitive rider coming off ponies or the Australian Children’s competitions.

This is an extremely difficult sale (I can’t actually even begin to describe it) and he will only go to the very best of homes.
