Introduction:

Bacardi is a 3yo Warmblood filly by Fontaine Blue VDL out of Belcam Congala, currently standing approximately 16hh. Bred by her current owner, she is an athletic, uphill type with three quality paces and a sweet nature, Bacardi presents as a lovely young prospect ready to step into a capable professional or experienced home and begin her ridden career.

Education, skills and experience:

Bacardi has been started with one backing preparation and requires completion of the breaking-in process. She is not currently under saddle. She has basic handling and lunging established she shows a willingness to learn.

General demeanour under saddle:

Bacardi is talented and ready to learn. When she completed her first prep, her breeder was asked 'has she done this before' because the filly took to all new experiences calmly and willingly. As with any young horse, she is green and inexperienced, so a confident, experienced rider will be important to provide clear guidance, consistency and confidence as her education progresses.

Current workload / fitness:

Bacardi is not in work and is not competing.

Handling:

On the ground, Bacardi is friendly and well mannered. She is easy to catch, ties up calmly, is good to wash, and is reliable for the vet and farrier. She is currently barefoot. Being a young horse, she will require on going groundwork to formalise her skills.

Bacardi is currently on hard feed with beet pulp, chaff, a concentrate, salt and plenty of hay. Management-wise, she can be kept in a herd or paddocked alone, so long as she has company in sight. She can also be stabled 12 hours and paddocked 12 hours as needed.

Medical history:

No medical issues, injuries, supplements or prescription medication have been reported. Bacardi is vaccinated for Tetanus and Strangles, with vaccinations recorded in July 2026, and had dentistry completed in July 2026. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider Suitability:

Bacardi is best suited to an experienced rider or professional/educated program accustomed to producing green young horses. With her age and stage, she will benefit from consistent handling, clear boundaries and a confident rider who understands young horses. She is not suitable for novice or nervous riders.

Reason for sale:

Bacardi is very regretfully for sale because the owner is studying full-time and does not have the time to commit to Bacardi at this important stage of her education.
