BORN TO BE ALIVE “SELFIE” – 6YO, APPROX. 17HH

Born To Be Alive, affectionately known as Selfie, is a 6-year-old Thoroughbred gelding standing approximately 17hh, looking for his next partner to continue his education and help him reach his full potential.

Selfie is a great mover with plenty of athleticism and a promising future in show jumping and eventing. He has been ridden over jumps and is confident over poles, with jumping videos available for interested buyers.

Selfie is still relatively new to life off the track and is learning what is expected of him in his next career. Like many young Thoroughbreds, he will have his quirks and is still finding his feet. He has never been nasty or displayed bad behaviour; he can simply get excited at times and will benefit from a confident, experienced person who understands the OTTB transition.

His flatwork is still a work in progress, and his steering is currently a little rough around the edges, but he is improving day by day. He is still learning and developing, so he will need someone willing to put in the time and continue building his education.

Selfie has also had desensitising work and has been exposed to a variety of objects, including tarps, umbrellas, feed bags and other unfamiliar items.

Ground manners and handling:

● Good to tie up

● Good for the farrier and vet

● Confident over poles and has been ridden over jumps

● No bucking or biting

Selfie is currently transitioning to barefoot and can be tender-footed, which will need to be considered and appropriately managed by his new owner.

He is best suited to an intermediate to experienced rider, with an experienced home preferred. He is not a finished product, but he has plenty to offer someone who enjoys producing a young horse and watching them improve.

With the right education, patience and consistency, Selfie has a great future ahead of him in jumping and eventing.
