Viva is a fabulous warmblood performance horse. She was produced to 3* level and 140 showjumping by her previous owner and competed to 2* and 130 by his current owner. Viva has the talent to continue up the levels of eventing or showjumping and she also has the experience to teach a confident young rider or amateur. She is a much loved member of the family and is only for sale, to the best of homes, due to her rider changing disciplines to straight dressage.
Breeding:
Viva is by Calgary GNZ out of a mare by Copabella Visage - both of these stallions are known for theit bravery, jumping talent and intelligence. Both stallions have competed to World Cup level and stamp their descendants with their fabulous attributes. With the passing of Visage recently, Viva is extremely valuable simply as a broodmare.
Education, skills and experience: Viva’s has been bought on slowly and correctly. She is currently competing and placing at 2* level. Viva could easily compete 120-130 showjumping tomorrow! She is established on the flat, training elementary dressage. She has attended competitions all over Queensland.
Dressage
Viva has three even balanced paces. She is established on the flat and consistently produces calm and accurate tests. Viva willingly collects - when ridden correctly - she is balanced, light and soft to ride. Viva has all laterals established. In dressage, Viva is always a stand out.
Showjumping
Viva always ‘wants to jump clean’ and has the breeding, scope and technique to jump 140!bShe is straightforward, bold, brave and trustworthy around the course - currently jumping 130 level successfully. Viva is that very rare combination of brave and careful. With her current rider, Viva has shown herself willing to take the occasional miss, sort herself out and happily carry on.
Cross Country
On cross country, Viva is super calm in the start box and bold and honest across the course. She absolutely loves jumping and is not phased by water, ditches, skinnies, angle fences or any fill. Viva is very clever and quick with her feet. She has an efficient and clean jump that is easy to sit and makes her very rideable. Viva can always be trusted to bring her rider home safely.
General demeanor under saddle:
Viva is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - she is compact, athletic and refined. Her paces display elasticity and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Viva is a willing and responsive mare who is honest and aims to please. She is straightforward and trustworthy to ride, compete, take off the property, and she works well in a group or on her own. Viva loves trail riding with the family, is good with dogs and copes with the noise and nonsense of children within her vicinity.
Viva does not have any vices or quirks. She is generally non-reactive and unflappable unless something major happens and, even then, she is completely safe. She does not require working down before an event or after a spell but can be tail swishy for a few minutes after a spell and can be hot/ need working down at a competition but only when in season and is still very safe.
Viva is ridden in a snaffle on the flat and a Trust hackamore combination bit for jumping as she can be fussy in the contact. She has a fitted saddle as she does have a bit of a ‘sway back’ conformation.
Current workload/ fitness: Viva is in work 3-5 days a week. She does not require regular work to be safe and reliable.
Handling and general behaviour: Viva LOVES people! She is safe, well mannered and easy to manage - easy and straightforward to handle - lead, rug, tack up, wash, shoe, float/ truck etc. Viva can have a bit of a play when it is ‘catching’ time but a treat and routine quickly solves that! Viva is super easy to travel and take out.
Feeding and management: Viva loves her food - she is currently fed Studgro, Fibre Complete, Copra and hay. Her stabling and paddocking management is entirely flexible.
Medical history: Viva did separate some fibres in her flexor tendon four years ago. She fully recovered, was cleared by vets and has successfully competed to 2* for the last three years.
Rider Suitability: A capable and confident junior, young rider or adult for eventing or straight showjumping. She is safe and lovely but she is a warmblood performance horse who is sharp when jumping and who has a decent amount of blood - which is what allows her to succeed at the upper levels of the sport.
Reason for sale: Viva is an absolute delight! She has been owned by her current rider for the last 3 years. This is a very sad and genuine sale of a much loved member of the family. Viva will only be sold to the most suitable home. She is only for sale due to her rider’s change of discipline.
