Ballahowe Alendro “Ecky” was purpose-bred, then broken in by Yona Lloyd. He competed successfully in dressage with Nina Lloyd for the majority of his career at Novice/Elem level, with a short stint of eventing in the 6yo young horse event with Yona Lloyd.

He is the full brother of the Lloyd’s 5* horse Ballahowe Ayurvedic. After many years of dressage with Nina Lloyd, including many wins and placings, in 2017 Ecky, at 12, returned to jumping, moving up the grades easily, schooling 2*, competing 1*, and showjumping up to 130cm in training whilst being on squad.

Ecky is very easy in that you can get back on after periods of time off with no “spicy” attitude toward work (can be lazy). He has been barefoot throughout his career (including eventing & jumping in wet conditions).

Extremely good doer with no need for excessive feed. Absolutely no bucking, no biting, no nasties at all.

Ridden in a very soft rubber dressage snaffle. Well-educated on the flat with well-established laterals and plenty of buttons.

Kind-natured but does require a competent rider with good basics and balance due to his size. Ecky is very easy to deal with on the ground, including being clipped or standing in cross ties for longer periods of time without complaint. Easily managed out at comps.

Owner only selling due to time restraints and being unable to compete due to work commitments.
