Introduction: Drumeden Serenade, known as Serena, is a 9-year-old bay Riding Pony mare standing approximately 13hh. By Beckworth Command ‘n’ Conquer out of Willocroft China Doll, she is a registered Riding Pony and is also registered Part Welsh, Arabian Riding Pony and Saddle Pony. Located in Kitchener, NSW, she is a well-educated, experienced pony with a strong record in showing and dressage.

Education, skills and experience:  Serena has an established level of education and is currently training novice level dressage, including shoulder-in, leg yield and walk to canter. She has competed very successfully locally and qualified and competed at Sydney Royal Easter Show. She has also undertaken low-level jump and cross country schooling, trail riding and beach outings, and is highly exposed to a variety of environments including busy roads, farm life, livestock, dogs and busy stabling situations.

General demeanour under saddle: Under saddle, Serena is a very quiet, willing and responsive pony who is soft and light in the bridle and willingly collects. She is tolerant of rider mistakes, non-reactive and unflappable, making her a safe and confidence-inspiring ride. She works well off seat aids, requiring minimal leg, with excellent brakes and a soft snaffle mouth. Like any educated pony, she does appreciate consistent contact on the reins.

Current workload / fitness:  Serena is currently in work and is being ridden three or more times per week while actively competing. She does not require regular riding to remain safe and is suitable to hop straight on after a spell.

Handling:  Serena is unflappable, calm and extremely easy to handle. She is easy to catch, well mannered on the ground, leads quietly and ties up without fuss. She loads and travels well, stands quietly, unloads calmly and is easy to clip, wash and manage. She is reliable for the farrier and good for the vet, and is tolerant of handler mistakes.

Behaviour:  Serena is free from vices or behavioural quirks. She may occasionally look at a puddle and walk around it but she won’t look at anything else! She always remains calm and manageable, with no spook or shy. She is a kind, genuine pony both in and out of work. She is reliable, sensible and well accustomed to a variety of environments, making her a straightforward pony to own and manage.

Feeding and management:  Serena is currently fed CEN CF50, lupins, CEN oil and lucerne chaff, along with Rhodes and lucerne hay. Her management is flexible, and she can be kept in a herd, on her own or in a combination of stabling and paddock environments, including full-time stabling if required.

Medical history:  Serena has no past or present medical issues, injuries or medication requirements. She had her dental completed on 30 January 2026 and is currently barefoot. She is vaccinated for tetanus and strangles. A vet check is welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider Suitability:  Serena is best suited to an intermediate rider with three years regular riding experience. She would suit a confident child, junior, young rider or even a mature rider looking for a safe and educated pony. She is also suitable for novices under instruction and has proven to be safe for child riders, making her a versatile option across a range of rider levels.

Reason for sale:  Serena is offered for sale due to her rider being sadly outgrown - she has been owned and loved by her family for six years. She is ideally suited to a dressage or show home where her education, temperament and competition experience can continue to be developed and enjoyed.
