Elegant OTTB Mare – Kind, Sensitive, Blank Canvas

Beautiful thoroughbred mare, 9 years old (DOB oct 2016), standing around 16hh. Retired from racing in 2021 and is now ready for her next chapter.

She is a sensitive, intelligent mare who thrives with a calm, confident handler.
Not a beginner’s horse — best suited to an experienced rider who appreciates a forward, responsive type and is willing to build a partnership.

The good:

• No dirt – no buck, rear, or bolt

• Good to catch, float, trim, and handle on the ground

• Up to date with teeth, feet, and vaccinations (incl Hendra)

• Beautiful mover
  
  The Honest:

• Has been out of work for 18months (not due to her- was my work, then fell pregnant and subsequent baby has meant no riding) and would benefit from being brought back into work slowly and correctly

• Can be anxious in new environments or with inconsistent handling

• Sensitive ride — not suited to nervous or unbalanced riders
  
  She has done low level (40cm) SJ comps in 2022, as well as some xc training and showed promise though definitely taks confidence from her rider. Then after a move to remote central QLD was used as a trail horse between 2023-2025- typically hacked out alone, past camels, creek crossings, dogs etc and quite unphased. However since being out of work is a bit more looky.
  

She would excel in a one-on-one home, whether that’s pleasure riding, low-level dressage, or someone wanting a rewarding project to bring along correctly.
