Ready to step up to 90cm showjumping and EVA80
Introduction:
Fantasia Park Mr Reid, known as Reid, is an attractive 13.2hh, 6yo Welsh x Riding Pony with a proven competitive record in showjumping and eventing.
Reid is a genuine jumping pony who loves his job, is honest to a fence and has the record to suit a confident young rider wanting to be competitive. With his current results, forward attitude and willingness, he is an exciting option for a child or small junior who wants a capable pony to enjoy and continue producing.
Education, skills and experience:
Reid is well educated, with strong experience in showjumping and cross country, and is continuing to develop his dressage.
He is currently competing and has delivered standout results up to 80cm, including multiple Champion and Reserve titles. He works in a snaffle most of the time and uses different bits as required for specific disciplines.
Away from the arena, Reid trail rides, swims at the beach and in dams or rivers, and is unfazed by farm life, tractors, trucks, motorbikes, livestock, dogs and general children’s activity around him.
General demeanour under saddle:
Reid is willing, responsive and forward. He knows his job in the showjumping and cross-country phases and is at his best with a rider who enjoys a pony that takes them to the fence. He is generally calm and reliable, but not completely unflappable. He can become tense with an unbalanced or nervous rider.
Due to his age, Reid is still developing his consistency in the contact and relaxation in the dressage phase. His strength and natural confidence are in the jumping phases, where he is honest, keen and enjoyable.
Current workload / fitness:
Reid is in work and ridden three or more times per week. He does not require constant riding to remain reliable and is safe to hop straight on after a spell.
Handling:
On the ground, Reid is straightforward and easy to manage. He leads, ties, loads and unloads calmly, self-loads, travels well, clips easily and is reliable for the farrier and when picking up feet. He is currently barefoot.
Feeding and management:
Reid is kept on grass with two hard feeds per day and hay added in winter. He can be kept in a herd situation, and this simple program supports his current workload.
Medical history:
Reid does not have any medical or management issues. He is vaccinated for Hendra and Tetanus, and his last dental was completed in January 2026. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability:
Fantasia Park Mr Reid is best suited to a confident, competitive rider who enjoys a forward, responsive pony and wants to jump. He is best matched to an intermediate rider with an independent seat who can give clear, consistent aids.
Reid would particularly suit a young rider focused on showjumping and eventing, while continuing to improve his dressage. For the right rider, he offers a genuine opportunity to step onto a competitive, honest and very willing jumping pony with proven results.
Reason for sale:
Rider has sadly outgrown him faster than expected.
