KASTEDA SWAY | ASH 6yo Brown Mare

‘Sway’ is a quiet and well-bred mare with a lovely temperament and solid foundation. She has been used for mustering and general stock work and is sensible, willing and straightforward in all situations. Sway has been handled and ridden by both children and adults, making her a great option for a junior, amateur or family looking for a genuine horse with great potential. Whilst she has not yet started competing, she has been out and about, had good exposure at local shows and is taking the experience in her stride. Although she hasn’t yet had a campdraft start, she has been turning cattle back and she is well prepared and ready to step up into multiple disciplines including campdrafting, showing, penning/sorting, stockman’s challenge and pony club. At the farm, Sway has been exposed to dogs and farm machinery, and is easy to catch, clip, shoe and wash. A genuine, uncomplicated mare, Sway combines quality breeding with a calm, trainable mind, making her a great prospect for someone wanting a horse they can enjoy now and continue to develop.

Pedigree

Bred in purple, Sway’s sire is by Acres Destiny (IS) and the Dam’s sire is by Warrenbri Omega (IS HSH). Sway’s sire ‘Morses Checkmate’ is the winner of Maiden, Juvenile and Open campdrafts and cutouts. He’s an extremely consistent horse who is breeding on cow, softness and trainable minds. He was awarded 4th in the 2024 Open Horse of the Year (SCA Far South Coast Monaro Zone) and 3rd in the 2024 Allround Horse of the Year (SCA Far South Coast Monaro Zone). His solid performance continued last year, with strong scores in multiple drafts.

𝗦𝗶𝗿𝗲: ‘Sway’ is sired by MORSES CHECKMATE, a son of the legendary ACRES DESTINY – IS, one of the Australian Stock Horse Society’s most influential Impact Sires. Acres Destiny is widely credited with shaping modern performance bloodlines, producing elite campdraft, challenge and all-round horses recognised for athleticism, trainability and longevity. Checkmate’s dam CURRAWONG JESSIE – HSH, by KRUI ROULETTE – IS HSH, adds proven heritage from one of the breed’s strongest maternal families. This sire line is renowned for cow sense, toughness and work ethic, making Sway genetically suited to campdraft, challenge, polocrosse and competitive stock work.

𝗗𝗮𝗺: Sway’s dam SODA DIOR – HSH brings outstanding performance credentials. She is by WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS HSH, Hall of Fame Impact Sire, winner of Sydney Royal Champion Ridden Horse in 1989 and 1990, and Warwick Gold Cup Champion 1990, with 383 registered progeny. Soda Dior herself was highly successful in the show ring, winning Champion Led Mare and Supreme Led Champion at the 2005 Charters Towers ASHS Championships, with further placings in Station Hack and Working classes.
