Introduction: Kolora Stud Ozzie, known as ‘Ozzie’, is a very exciting 6-year-old gelding with genuine scope, quality and presence. Standing at 16.2hh, Ozzie is a modern, powerful showjumping prospect with a sharp front end and an abundance of talent. He is already competitive at national level and has the ability to progress up the heights with the right rider. This is a genuine opportunity to secure a young horse with the temperament to suit a capable junior or amateur with the scope and quality to for a professional with ambitions to compete in World Cup Qualifiers.
Education, skills and experience: Ozzie is well educated for his age and has been produced with a competitive future mind. He has a big, powerful jump, is super confident over fences and genuinely loves his job. He is currently in work and competing and is ready to step up through the levels with correct riding and regular professional guidance.
Showjumping: Showjumping is Ozzie’s clear strength. He is scopey, careful and athletic, with a very sharp front end. He has proven himself in strong company, with comprehensive results to National level.
Ozzie has the quality, scope and mindset to continue progressing into higher-level tracks and is good enough to be developed by a professional or capable competitive rider.
General demeanor under saddle: Ozzie is beautiful to ride and very willing and responsive. At home he can be a little behind the leg, however he has his own motor once at a show and steps up into competition mode. He is super confident jumping, enjoys his work and gives his rider a very good feel over a fence. He can be cheeky at times, but this is manageable and typical of a talented young performance horse.
Current workload/ fitness: Ozzie is currently in work and ridden three or more times per week. He requires regular riding to remain settled and reliable. After a spell, he benefits from lunging before being ridden.
Handling and general behaviour: Ozzie is easy to catch and generally good to handle, though due to his size, age and talent he requires a capable handler. He ties up happily, self-loads, travels quietly, stands well on the float and unloads calmly. He is easy and calm to clip and is reliable for the farrier and vet.
Vices or quirks: Ozzie is horse shy in warm-up arenas, particularly if other horses trot or canter towards him or come up behind him. He is not dirty, just sensitive in busy warm-up environments. With a confident rider, this is very manageable.
Feeding and management: Ozzie is a very good doer and is currently fed Johnson’s Pony Pellets. His management is straightforward. He can be stabled and paddocked on a routine or kept in a paddock on his own. Over summer he lives out 24/7, and during winter he is stabled at night.
Medical history: Ozzie has no past or present medical issues. He is up to date with vaccinations (January 2026), dental (June 2025) and farrier work and is currently shod. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.
Tack and gear: Ozzie is worked in a snaffle most of the time and is jumped in a Neue Schule Tranz Angled Lozenge bit.
Rider Suitability: Capable to Experienced Rider defined as someone with extensive riding and competition experience, confident producing young horses and riding green or talented horses. Ozzie would suit:
A capable young rider (18–24 years) under strong professional support
An amateur adult rider with experience
A professional rider or competition home
He must be in regular professional instruction to reach his full potential.
Reason for sale: Offered for sale due to the rider giving up riding and relocating to Perth. This is a genuine sale, and Ozzie is only being sold because of a change in circumstances.
Ideal home: A competitive showjumping home where Ozzie will be produced correctly, taken out regularly and given the opportunity to reach his full potential. He is a quality young horse with a big future ahead of him.
