Introduction:

Lucy Wears Prada MV is an impressive 8yo grey Warmblood mare by Charlemagne Ego Z, with fabulous presence, quality breeding and an established showjumping record to 1.20m.

Professionally produced and currently competing, Lucy combines scope, athleticism and a strong competition background with the potential to continue progressing in the showjumping ring. She has been thoughtfully educated, with the benefit of experienced riders and exposure to a wide variety of competition environments.

Lucy is a lovely option and would suit a number of homes from a capable young rider, amateur to professional looking for a talented, competitive Warmblood mare. Her breeding, type and conformation also make her an attractive future broodmare prospect.

Education, skills and experience:

Lucy has been brought along carefully by professional riders, predominantly Becky Jenkins, alongside her owner's capable young adult rider.

She is currently competing with placing in showjumping classes from 90cm to 1.20m, with experience at agricultural shows and larger competitions within Queensland and NSW.

Lucy has been given time to mature and develop her strength and education, rather than being rushed through the heights. She has the experience and ability to continue her showjumping career with a confident rider.

General demeanour under saddle:

Under saddle, Lucy is a willing and forward performance mare who enjoys her work. She is soft and responsive on the flat and brave around the course. Lucy benefits from regular work and a consistent routine. Please see the Owner's Response Certificate for further information.

Current workload / fitness:

Lucy is currently competing and in full work, ridden five or more times per week. She is happiest in a consistent ridden program and benefits from a lunge before riding after a spell.

Handling:

For a capable handler, Lucy is straightforward to catch, groom, saddle, wash, load, travel and unload. She ties up calmly, stands patiently on the float or truck and is reliable for the farrier, vet, dentist and bodywork. Lucy is accustomed to busy competition environments and is sensible around farm machinery, trucks, tractors, dogs and fireworks. She travels well, eats and drinks when away from home and is comfortable competing over consecutive days. Given her size and presence, she is best managed by someone with confident, consistent handling skills.

Feeding and management:

Lucy is currently fed hard feed with Rhodes and lucerne hay. She is flexible in her management and can be paddocked or stabled, including in busy environments. Lucy is happy living on her own and does not display separation anxiety at home or at competitions. She is currently shod in front.

Medical history:

Lucy does not have any performance-limiting issues or past injuries. She is vaccinated for Tetanus, Strangles and Hendra, and her dental is up to date. Please see the Owner's Response Certificate for full medical history. Vet checks are welcome at the buyer's expense.

Rider Suitability:

Lucy is best suited to a confident, capable young rider, amateur adult or professional or mature rider under regular professional instruction who enjoys a quality, substantial mare with experience, presence and plenty to offer. She would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an established Warmblood mare with competition results to 1.20m, the scope to continue developing and the benefit of professional production.

Lucy is not suitable for novice or nervous riders. She requires a balanced, accurate rider who appreciates her sensitivity and is able to maintain a consistent ridden program.

Her quality breeding and performance record also offer the added advantage of future breeding potential.

Reason for sale:

A genuine sad sale due to a change in rider circumstances and limited time. Lucy was purchased as a filly by her current owners, and they are seeking a suitable home where she can continue her competition career.
