16.2hh TB Gelding. 13 years old. Solid build. Quality bred but was unraced as too slow.

Oakley was a successful Showjumper with previous owner competing up to and including 1m events. He also competed in Combined Training events and Dressage comps. He does beautiful and accurate Dressage tests. He’s EA registered and is also microchipped. Oakley has been fantastic for me to get back into riding after many years off. I wanted a quiet and safe horse that I could get on and enjoy and he has certainly done that for me. He was super patient with me getting my groove back jumping. He’s a point and shoot Showjumper. He’s not fazed by fillers or dazzle boards. He’s been schooled over XC jumps to which he was very bold. I’ve mainly focussed on Dressage to which he is very talented. He has beautiful head carriage which is light and soft on contact and has expressive paces. Has lovely transitions. Does flying changes, walk to canters, and responds well to leg aids. Regularly attends pony club (mainly with adult rider but has been used as a back up for my teenage daughter when her horse was lame). He’s done multiple Dressage and Showjumping clinics to which he has always received lots of compliments from the instructors. He is the same out and about as he is at home. No need to lunge or work down, just get on and go. Ridden out bush, on roads and main highway. Not spooky and hasn’t ever shied. Not fussed by machinery (we are on a busy farm). Doesn’t require regular work, but does go better the more he’s ridden. He loves his work and is always waiting for me at the gate. Good to catch, shoe, groom, wash, clip, float etc. A real people horse who has a lovely nature.

As lovely and quiet as he is, Oakley is a big horse, with big movement and he is well educated therefore not suitable for beginners or kids coming off small ponies. Experienced rider would be best for him. Looking for a very loving home. Suit someone wanting to do showjumping up to 1m, a mum rider (Oakley is also super patient to stand while instructing kids and great to ride together with them), and someone wanting to do Adult Riding Club or just a bit of an allrounder.  Only for sale as I’m now putting work into a younger horse and it’s just too time consuming for me riding two. Priced to sell at $8,000. Oakley is located at Swan Hill VIC. Transport companies pass through our town weekly, so transport is an option if needed. He’s up to date with worming, shoeing, dental, bodywork etc and is ready to find his new partner.
