Introduction: Jack is a fabulous young warmblood performance horse. He has been produced by his current owner since he was fresh from the breaker at 3 years old. Jack has the talent and youth to progress up the levels of any discipline and also the experience to teach a confident young rider or amateur. He is a much loved member of the family and is only for sale, to the best of homes, due to his owner’s personal circumstances.
Education, skills and experience: Jack’s owner has brought him on, slowly and correctly. He is currently competing at EVA95 level, schooling 2* cross country. Jack could easily compete 115-120 showjumping tomorrow! He is established on the flat, training elementary dressage. He has attended Eventing Squads and clinics all over Victoria.
Dressage
Jack has three even balanced paces. He is established on the flat and consistently produces calm and accurate tests. Jack willingly collects, is balanced, light and soft to ride. Jack has all laterals established. In dressage, Jack is always a stand out, he has consistently scored mid to high 60s in official competitions and over 70% in unofficial. He is well on the way to being a push button schoolmaster but he is still needs to be correctly ridden due to his age.
Showjumping
Jack always ‘wants to jump clean’ and has the breeding, scope and technique to jump 140! He is straightforward, brave and trustworthy around the course - competing 105-110 and school 120 plus. Jack is that very rare combination of brave and careful. With his current rider, Jack has shown himself willing to take the occasional miss, sort himself out and happily carry on.
Cross Country
On cross country, Jack is super calm in the start box and bold and honest across the course. Jack absolutely loves jumping and is not phased by water, ditches, skinnies, angle fences or any fill. He is very clever and quick with his feet. Jack has an efficient and clean jump that is easy to sit and makes him very rideable. He can always be trusted to bring his rider home safely.
General demeanor under saddle:
Jack is a wonderful example of the modern performance horse - despite his size - he is compact, athletic and refined. His paces display elasticity and activity suitable to progress up the levels.
Jack is a willing and responsive gelding who is honest and aims to please. He is straightforward and trustworthy to ride, compete, take off the property, and he works well in a group or on his own. Jack loves trail riding with the family, is good with dogs and copes with the noise and nonsense of children within his vicinity.
Jack does not have any vices or quirks. He is generally non-reactive and unflappable unless something major happens and, even then, he is completely safe. He does not require working down before an event or after a spell.
Jack is ridden - in all phases - in a Neue Schule Turtle Top eggbutt snaffle.
Current workload/ fitness: Jack is in work 3-5 days a week. He does not require regular work to be safe and reliable.
Handling and general behaviour: Jack LOVES people! He is safe and easy to manage - easy and straightforward to catch and handle - lead, rug, tack up, wash, shoe, float/ truck etc.
Jack loves people and affection - cuddles with the kids are his favourite thing! He is super easy to travel and take out. Jack even took part in a photoshoot in Melbourne at a mansion - with models lying all over him! Jack is however, a big young horse, so requires a handler who is confident with his type.
Feeding and management: Jack loves his food and is a good doer. He is fed Barastoc Breed and Gro plus hay.
Medical history: Jack has no past or present medical issues.
Rider Suitability: A capable and confident (tall) junior, young rider or adult for eventing, straight dressage or straight showjumping. He is quiet safe and lovely but he is still a big, young horse who requires correct training and guidance to continue up the levels.
Reason for sale: Jack is an absolute delight! He has been owned by his current rider since he was 3 years old and green broken. This is a very sad and genuine sale of a much loved member of the family. Jack will only be sold to the most suitable home. He is only for sale due to his owner’s personal circumstances.
