Spannerkop (“Spanner”) is a proven, competitive and genuinely special children’s horse with an impressive record to 130cm and three consecutive National Interschools campaigns. She is naturally quick, incredibly genuine to a fence and absolutely loves her job, the sort of mare who knows when it’s time to get in the ring and give you everything.

She has spent years successfully competing around the country, collecting garlands, rugs, ribbons and plenty of results, and is well known on the jumping circuit. Her experience, carefulness and competitiveness make her a fantastic opportunity for a capable junior wanting a horse they can go out and chase results with.

Spanner is beautifully educated on the flat with a soft, balanced way of going and established basics. She has also competed in Combined Training, giving her experience in the dressage ring as well as the jumping arena. This makes her particularly well suited to an Interschool rider wanting to have a go at everything, whether that be showjumping, dressage or Combined Training. She is athletic, careful and experienced, with the ability to help a rider develop across multiple disciplines.

She is not a first horse or a beginner’s ride. At competitions she can be more forward and switched on, so she is best suited to a competent junior who wants a fun, competitive partner and is comfortable riding a mare with some personality.

And when the boots come off? She is an absolute pleasure. Easy to catch, shoe, float and clip, with a kind nature and a genuine love of attention. She is the sort of horse you can spend all day fussing over.
