🌟 ANAKIE 🌟

14.3hh | 8yo Registered Partbred Arabian Gelding | Price is Negotiable - Experienced Home is Not |

Born in Queensland and started by Scott Jenkins, Anakie Sapphire (Toruk) is a stunning chestnut part Arab gelding with potential for dressage, working equitation and endurance which he was bred for. Like me, he is not into cows. In the last year he has received loads of ground work, western clinics, arena work, private lessons and days off farm. He also spend 2 months off site for further training with Turn-n-Burn Performance horses to help him develop his front and balance. He has a lovely rocking horse canter.

He is sweet and gentle and loves being groomed, massaged and spending time with his special human. If he respects you and sees you as his leader, he will try his heart out for you. Because he's smart and not challenged enough, he is easily bored and therefore he needs an experienced and patient home. He tends to get nervous in new situations and when he's not sure of something, he can spook. He does not bolt, bite or kick. For this reason, he is not for beginners and I will only sell him to the best of homes where his education can be continued.

He is a very easy keeper with an uncomplicated diet and is barefoot. He receives regular chiropractic, massage and accupuncture care. Microchipped, Hendra, dental, all shots up to date, and anything else he has required he has received.

In the year that I have owned him, my complete focus was on developing a calm and mentally quiet horse. He has had regular horsemanship ground work and we were starting to do more saddle work. He enjoys trot poles, the occasional jump and when we've gone to sport horse, he's loved the obstacles. He has a natural take off point and a lovely bascule. He has been paddocked alone with our goats and dogs with horses over the fence. He is out and about during the day and stabled at night.

Zorro has 8 Quilty buckles. Anakie's grandmother was an Anglo or thoroughbred cross who came 2nd in the Quilty in the 70s.

HEALTH & HOOF HISTORY
In great health and barefoot. He has had no injuries and no issues in the time that I have had him. He is an easy keeper.

THE RIGHT HOME

Anakie is my first horse (I've only ever leased) and has been a big part of my life for the past year. He has taught me so much about horsemanship. Arabs are so expressive it's easier to tell what they're thinking/feeling. For that, I am truly thankful. My goal into year 2 was to focus on more saddle work and start working on further developing his lateral movement and balance. It is then I realised that I am lacking in my knowledge on how to do this with a project horse and needing more of a confidence builder for the next year or so where I can further develop myself and my saddle skills. Where we are located, it is hard to get regular lessons and the clinics that come our way are sporadic and typically more than an hour's drive away.

Anakie is in his prime and really needs to go to a home that will continue his education and potential. I don't want him to go to waste in the paddock during these key years simply because I don't have the confidence yet or the time to devote to his education. I am trying to do what's best for him and what's best for me.

He will be sold with his bits (2) and blankets (2), Endurance Book (TOR 191322) and I am happy to negotiate anything else the new owner deems important. He has been professionally saddle fitted so I can share those details as well.

He will be in regular work until he finds his new home.
