(My beautiful perimenopausal mid-life crisis purchase…) Meet Flash — the horse I bought thinking “Surely I can retrain a Thoroughbred like I did in my teens  - it will be fun- while juggling two kids riding, weekend sport, travel, work and a husband 🤦‍♀️😂.” Cleary a mid-life perimenopausal-delusional idea to get a young horse lol.

Flash, however, is absolutely sensational.

Flash is a rising 6yo TB, beautifully put together at approx. 15.2hh, compact, athletic and full of presence. He is the kind of horse you can pull out of the paddock after 6 weeks off, hop on… and he does absolutely nothing wrong.

He is:

• Soft in the mouth

• Balanced with a beautiful canter and trot

• Naturally relaxed and seriously chilled - but not a kick-along.

He has been brought back into work by a lovely rider who previously rode for Brett Parbery, giving him excellent foundations, and he also had a great early education in his racing stable.

He’s is probably the quietest pony on our property lol when it comes to plastic bags, wind, flapping tarps (the kids ponies hate it - but he couldn’t care less).

He is easy to float and shoe

Taken out for lessons and takes everything in his stride

Loves people, kind nature, big soft eye

• Happy to pop little jumps and shows careful, clever technique

• Naturally soft, supple.

• Understands contact, moves nicely off the leg

• Could easily suit a capable junior or young rider

Despite his size, he has presence, athleticism and all the makings of a serious performance horse across eventing, show jumping or dressage.
