Alakazam DS “Harry” is a high-quality performance gelding with presence, talent, and a very good brain. Sharp-thinking and naturally athletic, he offers a forward, engaged feel under saddle and brings consistency and intent to his work. Harry is an established competition horse with genuine ability across all three phases, giving his rider a confident, professional feel every time he is ridden.

Harry is a true three-phase horse with a solid foundation and a proven performance record. He has show jumped successfully to 1.00–1.05m, including strong results at Children’s level, and shows clear potential to be competitive at Juniors and Amateurs level. He has evented to EVA80, consistently producing sub-30 dressage scores, with numerous finishes on dressage.
Recently, Harry has lead the dressage after his first eva80 at Wallaby Hill young horse festival, as well as multiple results show jumping, including a top 10 finish in the children’s title at Jumping NSW State Title – his first time at this height.
He also finished 2nd at ISHE in the evrnting, with his 12yo rider, as well as many more top finishes across disciplines.

Currently, Harry is training closer to 1.15m show jumping, schooling 1–2* cross-country, and working at Elementary level on the flat. He is schooling shoulder-in and quarters-in, half-pass, counter-canter, and simple and flying changes, reflecting a well-rounded and established education on the flat.

Under saddle, Harry is established, reliable and very enjoyable to ride. He has three quality paces and consistently receives positive comments from dressage judges. He demonstrates very good self-carriage and balance, boasting expression and class in his movement. His naturally uphill canter, expressive trot, and adjustable way of going allow him to deliver the same quality feel consistently.

Over a fence, Harry is an excellent blend of bold and careful. He is confident with all types of fillers, show jumps and cross-country questions, and approaches his jumping with consistency and honesty. He is a forgiving horse who remains tolerant of the occasional miss or rider imperfection, giving his rider confidence while still respecting the fence. Scopey, careful and brave, he is a genuinely fun and competitive ride.

Harry has been ridden successfully over the past year by a novice 12-year-old, competing in both eventing and show jumping, which reflects his education and reliability. In addition, he has been managed completely by juniors throughout his competition career. He is a sharp-thinking horse who can be sensitive in new environments and is therefore best suited to a competent rider willing to continue his education and provide clear, confident support. With correct riding, he settles quickly and becomes a very consistent and rewarding partner.

Harry would suit a confident and competitive junior through to adult rider, from ambitious juniors progressing through the levels to capable amateurs seeking a quality horse with presence, scope, and genuine potential.

He does hack out both alone and in company. Harry is straightforward to handle day-to-day, good for the farrier, dentist, and vet, and is an easy doer with no known medical or ongoing management issues. He has proven himself to be sound, and full vet checks are very welcome.

Heart-breaking sale due to his rider no longer having the time to ride consistently. Harry is a horse with the quality, engine, and education to continue developing into a top-class competition horse and deserves a rider and program that allow him to reach his full potential.
