Talented 6 Year Old Dressage Horse by Chemistry

‘AD Catch Phrase’ (RJ) is a 161cm 6-year-old black warmblood gelding by Chemistry out of TF Special Delivery.

RJ has an incredible work ethic, combined with sensitivity and trainability, making him a very exciting prospect for the higher levels. He’s naturally forward thinking, while being very safe to ride and he puts in 110% every day – a combination that is very hard to find! He’s already showing incredible talent for the collected work, with super half steps and a real ability to take weight behind as he starts work towards canter pirouettes. He is a real natural at lateral work and gives an incredibly easy feeling in the shoulder in and half pass.  

He has great overtrack in the walk, with a clear 4 beat rhythm and natural activity. His trot is starting to develop more cadence and has fantastic mechanics and a natural ability to sit. He has a super hind leg in the canter and is naturally balanced, making the more difficult movements a breeze.

He has recently started training the flying changes and is already very responsive to the aid and has been very good-natured to teach – no silly behaviour at all!

He has also started working on piaffe and passage (at a level that’s appropriate for his age), canter pirouettes and half pass zig-zags.

He works confidently in both a snaffle and double bridle.

He’s done plenty of competing (both indoors and outdoors) and has travelled a lot for lessons, clinics etc. He’s had scores to 69% at Elementary Level and was placed in the top 3 at Horse of the Year in 2025 at Novice level. His strength will really lie in the upper-level work – I think he’ll really start to shine once he reaches FEI levels.

He’s schooling confidently towards Advanced Medium level, and I believe would be ready to compete at Advanced level during the upcoming season with an experienced rider. Alternatively, he can still be competed at Elementary level without being downgraded so he would be well suited to a less experienced rider wanting to learn the ropes!

RJ is wonderful to hack both alone and in company and is great on the road and open farmland. He’s not at all worried about cars, tractors, animals etc.

RJ is microchipped and registered with the New Zealand Warmblood Association.

I find him very easy on the ground and he trucks/floats well, is great to drench, shoe, clip, catch etc. He can be a bit of a comedian, so he does best with clear boundaries.

RJ is very safe to ride and has a super personality, however he is still a young warmblood and so will only be sold to an experienced home.
