The Hunter Valley Quarter Horse Association Inc (HVQHA) are holding an “A” Quarter Horse show this Sunday, 5 February from 9.00am at the Allandale Twin Arenas, Cessnock. The judge will be Kim Wearn and there is a full programme on offer including Quarter Horse, Appaloosa, Paint and Paint Bred halter plus showmanship, lungeline, led trail, hunter in hand, hack, hunter under saddle, hunt seat equitation, leadline, western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, western riding and reining. ...

Julie Davey and Air Hill Myka added a nice title to their trophy cabinet in winning the Horse Grand Prix crown at the Larsen Sawmilling North Island Championships in Gisborne yesterday. The Hawke’s Bay combination just sneaked home ahead of Lisa Coupe (Hawke’s Bay) aboard My Ocean Wave. It was a small field that started the star class of the show. In the opening round over the John Vallance (Australia) designed course, Coupe rode a beautifully calm and clear round aboard Ocean Wave – the only ones to leave everything up....
