Introduction: Brookhill Dawin, known as Sonic, is a 7-year-old black gelding standing approximately 15hh. An Irish Sport Horse x Australian Stock Horse x Clydesdale cross, he is located in Westbury, Tasmania and presents as a versatile performance prospect with experience across multiple disciplines. He is a well-educated horse with scope and potential for the right home.

Education, skills and experience: Sonic is educated across dressage, showjumping, eventing and pony club activities. On the flat, he is schooling leg yield and shoulder-in. He has been training up to 1.05m showjumping at home and 95cm cross country. He has already competed successfully, placing third in the 60cm, second in the 70cm and winning the 60cm championship at Northern Showjumping Championships. He also has experience trail riding and low-level cross country schooling and is comfortable around livestock, dogs and general farm life.

General demeanour under saddle: Under saddle, Sonic is forward and can be sharp. He can take time and skill to achieve a consistent frame and contact, although he remains non-reactive unless something major occurs. He does have some quirks which are easily managed with with consistent work and confident riding - please see Owner’s Response Document for full details.

Current workload / fitness: Sonic is currently in full work and is being ridden five or more times per week while actively competing. He requires regular riding to remain reliable and benefits from being lunged prior to riding each day.

Handling: Sonic is easy to catch, leads calmly, ties up quietly and is easy to wash. He is reliable for the farrier and good for the vet. He has previously had issues with loading into a float, largely due to being allowed to avoid it in the past, but this has improved and he now loads with patience and consistent handling. He loads well into a truck and does require a capable handler.

Behaviour: Sonic has previously been allowed to develop some undesirable habits, however his manners have improved significantly. He benefits from clear boundaries and confident handling to ensure he does not revert to old habits. Please see Owner’s Response Document for full details.

Feeding and management: Sonic is currently kept in a grass paddock with access to hay 24/7. He can be managed in a herd, on his own or on a property without other horses.

Medical history: Sonic has no past or present medical issues. He was last vaccinated for tetanus, although the exact date is unknown, had his dental completed in February 2026 and is currently shod. A vet check is welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider Suitability: Sonic is best suited to a capable rider under regular professional instruction. He would suit a junior rider, young rider or amateur adult with the confidence and experience to continue his education and maintain consistent boundaries.

Reason for sale: Sonic is offered for sale as he is a project pony - purchased for this purpose. He is best suited to a confident home that can continue his education and provide consistent handling so he continues progressing positively.
