This is an extremely difficult sale of a much-loved, homebred horse. Unfortunately, due to our recent move to Bundaberg (near a river), the environment does not suit him as he suffers from severe itch. He is currently managed with rugs and feed supplements; however, he is not a fan of sprays.

Experience & Temperament

Windy is a versatile, reliable pony with experience in:

Farm work

Trail riding

Pony Club

Jumping up to 70cm

Teaching young riders (recently educating a 7-year-old)

He is quiet in nature but still forward-moving, making him a safe and enjoyable ride.

Handling

Easy to catch, rug, float, and trim

Has always been barefoot

Can be slightly fidgety when washing (moves around during hosing)

Difficult to worm (can be managed with persistence or in-feed wormers)

Other Notes

Occasionally a little spooky at random things, but nothing serious

Not a fan of fillers in jumping courses – requires a confident rider for jumps over 70cm

Despite this, he is our go-to horse for riders who haven’t ridden in years due to his calm and trustworthy nature
