Introduction: A well-bred 15.3hh Welsh x Warmblood mare with proven junior mileage, Joshua Brook Lacey is EA life registered (60023713) and has been a reliable teacher, giving her rider confidence and competitive fun across eventing, show jumping and interschool. Honest, straightforward and experienced, Lacey is an ideal partner for a capable, kind rider wanting to learn, enjoy their horse and be competitive at the lower heights.

Education, skills and experience: Lacey has competed comfortably from 60–80cm across eventing, show jumping, pony club and interschool-type environments. She has extensive junior mileage and is currently in work and competing. has competed up to 90cm. However, she is most comfortable and reliable to 80cm. She has never refused at 50–80cm.

Lacey is not concerned by busy environments, farm machinery or traffic. She is happy stabled or living in the paddock and is an experienced, practical and reliable mare in a range of settings.

General demeanour under saddle: Lacey is forward, willing and responsive with a non-reactive, unflappable temperament. She is tolerant of rider mistakes, vice free and safe. Lacey is happy in a snaffle on the flat and has a fitted jumping bit, which is included in the sale. She enjoys her jumping and can be keen, which is part of what makes her fun and competitive at her level.

Current workload / fitness: Lacey is in regular work, ridden three or more times per week, and is currently competing. She is safe to hop on after a spell and does not require daily riding to remain reliable.

Handling: Lacey is exceptionally easy to manage. She is calm to catch, lead and tie, self-loads and travels quietly, is easy to clip and wash, and is good for the vet and farrier. She is tolerant of handler mistakes and straightforward in all day-to-day tasks.

Feeding and management: Lacey is currently on two hard feeds per day. She can live happily in a herd, paddocked alone or stabled, including 24/7 in a busy environment.

Medical history: Lacey has had a recent vet check, completed for management and preventative purposes only, and recent x-rays are available from within the last three months, including flexions.

The x-rays show some changes that do not affect performance and are within normal limits for her age. Lacey is sound and is on Pentosan, which is very standard management for many performance horses. She is up to date with vaccinations, including tetanus, strangles and Hendra. Lacey is shod on a six-week cycle.

Rider Suitability: Lacey is best suited to an intermediate rider or a confident junior with regular instruction, aiming to compete around 60–80cm in show jumping, eventing, pony club or interschool. She is ideal for someone wanting an experienced, willing and genuine partner to learn, progress and have fun with.

Reason for sale: Lacey’s current rider has another horse and is moving up the levels. Lacey is happiest up to 80cm and is ready to give her next rider the same enjoyable, confidence-building and competitive experience.
