AATC Topcat "Tommy" is one of the most talented young Warmbloods out there, collecting Dressage NSW medals at Preliminary and Novice levels and winning his Elemenary start since he was purchased for a young rider back in 2021. The only problem is, a combination of a strong horse personality, some external rider issues and a young warmblood with big opinions has meant, since April,when he won the Alexander Park Novice championship with a professional rider, Thomas hasn't been out at all. 
Thomas is incredibly atheletic and is more than prepared to demonstrate that under saddle, and so requires a strong, assertive rider to bring him to his full potential. Unfortunately, at this point in time, Thomas and his rider who is a soft, sensitive rider, are simply not going to go forward, and so since returning home during the Hunter wet weather, Thomas has sat in a paddock with a round bale and no rugs.
He is a bargain horse at this price, BUT, and I cannot emphasis this enough, he is not going to suit anyone with any hesitation as he can, and will take advantage. He has unsettled his current rider bucking her off and rearing when fresh. Being 25% thoroughbred, Thomas can jump and I think would have the capacity to go a long way eventing, he also has an incredible amount of movement and has half pass and a change established each way.
He has had full clean X rays while he was in the Hunter, and also did two weeks with Grant Hughes in December while we tried to establish if this was a horse/rider mismatch. Grant is happy to chat about him as he had no issues whilst in work there.
As you can imagine, this is a heartbreaking sale when you have to accept that a horse with this amount of talent you have been very successful with, is not the horse for you. If Thomas does not sell, he will go back into professional work after Christmas and be readvertised at a price reflecting that investment.
