Introduction: Trixie is an accomplished mare who is established at EVA65 level and show jumping at 60/70 while confidently training higher. She is competitive, uncomplicated, and affectionate, and unfortunately, very, very sadly outgrown. Trixie’s sale presents a rare and wonderful opportunity for someone to purchase a safe, straightforward, established, and scopey performance pony.
Education and experience: Trixie is the ultimate performance superstar - with consistent results, rideability, and the temperament to excel with her next rider. She consistently scores over 70% at preliminary to novice level dressage. On the flat, Trixie is soft and light in the bridle, willingly collects, and has wonderful movement. She is training shoulder in, walk to canter, trot, and canter extensions. Trixie has the looks, conformation, and presence required to be successful in this phase.
Trixie loves jumping, and she is honest both on cross country and show jumping. She is brave and is tolerant of a miss - she is always willing to help her rider out of a bad spot! Trixie is currently competing successfully at 60-70cm SJ and EVA65 eventing, training confidently at 80-85cm with the scope to progress.
Trixie has attended pony club, state-level competitions, been trail ridden and enjoys a bareback ride. She is relaxed on trail rides and is generally completely unflappable - if she sees a kangaroo, she just needs a pat for reassurance. She loves competing and is the same at competitions as she is at home. Trixie is not worried by farm life, dogs, other pets, or busy roads.
General demeanor and behavior: Trixie is a responsive and willing performance pony when asked to be. She happily and safely adjusts to the experience, confidence, and enthusiasm of her rider. Trixie is tolerant of rider mistakes, kind, and straightforward to ride.
Trixie is 100% safe - she does not buck, pigroot, bolt, or rear. She is safe and unphased at shows and in new environments. Trixie is not ‘matey’ or ‘marey’ and is happy to be on her own or with others.
Current workload/fitness: Trixie is currently in work 3 times a week. She does not need to be ridden regularly to be safe, and her behavior is not affected by a spell.
Handling: Trixie is very well-mannered on the ground. She is easy to catch, lead, and handle - for farrier, picking out feet, grooming, clipping, and washing. Trixie does out her ears back when you do up the girth but has never bitten. She loves her adventures and doesn’t hesitate when loading onto the float or truck. Trixie stands quietly when traveling and unloads calmly. Trixie is easy and calm to clip.
Feeding and management: Trixie is currently living on grass and is a good doer without being ‘too good a doer.’ When in work, or if grass is minimal, she gets a small hard feed.
Medical history: Trixie doesn’t have any medical or management issues. She is 100% sound and without issues. Trixie’s owner welcomes any vet check, X-rays, scans, and blood tests.
Rider Suitability: Trixie has been owned by her current rider for the last four years, since she was 9 years old. She will adjust to her rider, doing as little or as much as she is asked. Trixie is willing, without being forward. Trixie is straightforward enough to be ridden by novice riders.
Ideal home: A long-term home with a junior or a small adult rider who will enjoy her and learn with her. She has a very sweet temperament, and she deserves a loving home where she is treated kindly.
Reason for sale: Trixie’s rider has very sadly outgrown her and knows that she has so much to give and teach her next rider.
