Special jumping mare with a performance pedigree

Delta is a beautiful mare with a performance pedigree. Bred in Australia, by Calgary GNZ out of Vertical Horizon, she has top jumpers on both sides of her pedigree. Both her full and half siblings have also competed to 1.40 level with success.

Delta is the sweetest mare and a joy to do everything with. She loves a fuss and is a real pet. She the one I give to my non horsey parents to hold or graze as she is so easy. Good to shoe, clip, worm and so on. Trucks like a dream, eats really well away from home, stands at the ring with you for hours, easy in the warm up, polite to hand graze and walk, stands in the yards when you take her buddy,  just such a good girl! Can be sassy to other horses but never to her humans.

She is a lovely type with a beautiful head, short coupled with an active hind leg. Beautiful on the flat, with exceptional movement and all the buttons - laterals, auto changes, counter canter. She oozes quality and feels like a big horse to ride - gets down lines and combinations easily. Currently in a leather snaffle, she has a lovely soft mouth.

Competed to pro am (1.20-1.30)and 1.25 while looking after her rider, with plenty of scope for more. She is scopey and careful and really reads the front bar. Can be a bit spooky but is easy as long as you keep going forward. Doesn’t mind a deep or long distance, very adjustable. Has been cruising around smaller heights this season due to rider confidence, not her own limitations.

Hacks out down roads, over the farm and the down the beach alone and in company, I also lead her off my other horse. Can be a bit looky but is easy on the buckle and good in traffic, with stock etc.

Had a slow start to jumping life, lightly competed as a 5yo by a professional, before being sold. Covid hit and she chilled in a paddock until I purchased her as just turned 8 so has very fresh legs. No stone has been left unturned in any aspect of her care or management. She is very sound, easy to manage, a joy to have around, and ready to go and be competitive in her new home. She would also make an exceptional broodmare prospect in future with her breeding and temperament.

She is sensitive, so would suit a kind and competent rider, who’s prepared to build a partnership with her and then go and have some fun. A sad sale of a very loved mare, who I intended to keep, but unfortunately I have to be an adult! Only available to the best of homes where she will be loved as much as she has been here.
