Super FEI/Advanced Full Height Pony

Skyhi Leandro K (Smudge) is an exceptional 11 year old full height dressage pony with a proven performance record, sound, fit, and in full competition work.
By imported Trakehner stallion Komet Von C (by Gribaldi), Smudge combines outstanding trainability, movement, and competition temperament with an impressive performance record.
I have owned Smudge for nearly five years and produced him myself through the grades during this time. Prior to this he stood as a stallion until age six and has progeny on the ground. He also spent time jumping and shows natural talent in this area; his dam competed to Pony Mini Prix level.
Currently Smudge is successfully competing in the FEI Junior classes and NZ Advanced Medium (equivalent to Australian Medium), where he is consistently in championship placings. This season he has been Champion or Reserve Champion at every competition he has competed in at NZ Level 5 or FEI Junior, often competing against professionals and always the only pony in his classes.
He is well established in all work and test-ready through to Advanced 6B / AUS 5.2, with potential to progress further. If I kept Smudge, the plan would be to compete him at Small Tour / FEI Young Rider level next season. Smudge is very confident in his flying changes - he has only been learning them for less than a year but has recently started bringing his sequences off the wall in 4’s 3’s and also his 2‘s, and has just started learning 1‘s (currently up to 3 changes). Despite this his counter canter is still super, and only changes when you ask.

Smudge has a really soft snaffle mouth and also goes confidently in a double bridle after being introduced to it over the past few weeks.

Smudge would make an outstanding young rider schoolmaster or highly competitive pony for a small adult, with the versatility to step down for a younger rider or continue progressing up the levels with an ambitious partner.
He can be a forward, sensitive ride but never dirty, no buck, rear, or bolt, and thrives in a consistent competitive environment. He is great in bigger atmospheres and has competed at the NZ Horse of the Year show in the main oval, and also at Takapoto Estate. Day to day he is more woah than go.
He is great to shoe, load, travel and take away, is super around farm machinery and livestock and loves to hack out over the farm or go for a good canter.

Smudge is incredibly special to me and this is a very difficult sale. He is only available as I am heading to university this year, and he is far too talented to sit in the paddock when he has so much still to give.
