True Balou

‘True Balou’ aka Sapphire is a 4-year-old warmblood mare by Balou du Rouet out of a Vivant mare. Sapphire was born in November of 2022 and is currently about 14.2hh. Sapphire is a beautifully coloured mare with a striking presence and personality to burn. She was broken in early 2025 and has since been further educated and given regular breaks. I have had Sapphire since she was 18 months old and I absolutely adore her which makes this a hard sale.

Sapphire has been brought on carefully and slowly to ensure her proper development, with a strong focus on her longevity with her overall health and maturity as my number one priority. She has lovely flatwork and has begun to jump undersaddle, making a great shape over fences. She is naturally careful and thoughtful in her approach to work making her a quick learner and a fun horse to work with. She is extremely quiet both on the ground and undersaddle, will follow you around in the paddock and is always looking for attention. Sapphire has been ridden bareback and on trail rides with both with other horses and alone with no issues. She will walk around on a loose rein all day every day. She is a dream to float and loves to be washed and pampered. She has a very inquisitive nature and is always looking to learn and be involved.

Sapphire has heaps of potential to succeed in the showjumping ring, however I have recently started uni and become too time poor to give her the attention she deserves. Due to her size and her quiet nature she would be best suited to a teenager or young rider wanting their first young horse to continue on with. I would like to see sapphire succeed and unlock her full potential, therefore only the best homes will be chosen.

Sapphire’s excellent performance-focused breeding would also make her a valuable asset to anyone looking to breed.

Sapphire is up to date with all vaccinations and vet work.
