Melody is a gorgeous 12-year-old mare who has been a cherished schoolmaster in our riding school for many years. From flatwork, cross-country, pony parties and showjumping to trail rides—you name it, she’s done it. She has taught countless children how to trot, canter, and jump, and has spent the last year being leased by a 12-year-old girl.

Over the past 3 years, Mel has been a successful attendee at Matcham Pony Club and a proven ribbon winner. She is graded D Grade for showjumping, easily clearing 70cm at home, with the presence and movement to excel in Dressage, Eventing, and Showing.

Melody is highly educated, low-maintenance, and does not require daily riding to remain safe, sane, and reliable. Safe on the lead and lunge, she has taken riders aged 4 to 14. She can be lazy, making her safe and forgiving for young kids. She's the ideal partner for a novice rider looking for a genuine connection to build confidence and climb the ladder.

She holds her weight exceptionally well, is kept barefoot (no shoes required), and is a dream for the farrier. Easy to wash, rug, worm, saddle, groom, and float. Like most ponies, she loves her food and can be cheeky at times. As a typical mare, she values her personal space, so we put a red ribbon in her tail at Pony Club.

Mel is a much-loved pony who has given so much to our school. She is ready to make her next little rider very happy.
