Pumpkin is a beautiful mare that will be an asset to any breeding program. Both parents are imported from Europe and boast some of the world’s best bloodlines. This is evident through Pumpkin herself and her variety of talented half-siblings that all carry the natural scope and power through from the dam line. 

The KWPN ‘Landra’ dam line consistently produces fantastic jumpers, and Pumpkin is no exception to this. Her dam Dilandra was highly talented, and sister to two 1.50 m jumpers overseas in Boucheron & Zalandra. Dilandra’s sire Quidam’s Rubin boasts a very impressive black type % and has produced numerous 160 jumpers (Aussies, think Quero Quero). A close eye will note the double cross of the great Landgraf I in her pedigree - a legendary showjumping sire.

Cassini II is carried through by Pumpkin’s sire, Caitano, who was imported as a licenced Holsteiner stallion. Cassini II’s progeny are modern in type and offer elasticity in their scope. He offers an abundance of 160 progeny which include Holger Wulschner’s Cassius, Thies Luther’s Cassilo and Steffen Lutter’s Capriolo. Cassini II’s licensed son, Camarque was sold to Denmark for €230,000, where he was the showjumping champion of the Danish stallion approvals.

In the ring, Pumpkin always impressed with her scope and flashy technique, while also remaining super brave, even in front of fancy gear. Pumpkin has been lightly produced to 115 level at shows. Due to a couple of minor injuries as a young horse, we utilised her as a broodmare. She has two STUNNING progeny – a scopey 3yo gelding (by Greengrove Cera Calchas) and beautiful weanling filly (by Contendro) who are both being retained at this stage. They are big, modern, athletic types and very trainable (even with different sires) which goes to show the consistency and strength of Pumpkin’s pedigree.

Pumpkin is a pleasure to deal with on the ground - quiet and easy to handle inc load/shoe/float etc. She is homebred and very much loved - this is a sad sale only due to time constraints and winding down of breeding volume.
