Gucci has announced that it will be continuing its collaboration with equestrian show jumper and granddaughter of Princess Grace of Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi. Following blood tests, eight people now have to wait two weeks for confirmation that they are clear of Hendra Virus, including the vet who treated the horse that died from the deadly, bat-borne disease - unfortunately he was not wearing a face mask or protective clothing during treatment of the horse. Queensland chief veterinarian Rick Symons praised the Beaudesert vet for his vigilance in testing the "shaky and off-colour" horse, but confirmed he had not been wearing full protective gear....
Second Property Hit by Hendra Virus

Further to our earlier report about the outbreak of the deadly Hendra virus near Beaudesert in Queensland, a second property has now also been quarantined. Initial investigations suggested no other properties were at risk - the horse who died from Hendra was moved to the second property after it fell ill, which is why that property has now also been quarantined....
Dressage Legend Weltmeyer Dies

In a day that seems full of bad news the German dressage site, St Georg has reported that one of the world’s leading sires of dressage horses died in Germany yesterday. Queensland authorities are moving quickly to try to contain an outbreak of the deadly hendra virus on a farm near Beaudesert, south of Brisbane. Deputy Premier Paul Lucas says Queensland Health and Biosecurity Queensland were contacted on Tuesday evening after a vet treating the horse on a farm at Kerry confirmed the animal had died from hendra virus. The farm at Kerry has been quarantined and residents living in the surrounding area will be contacted. Mr Lucas says people on the farm will be quarantined....
