Exceptional Young Dressage Horse

For sale on behalf: ‘KP Sapphire Delight’ is a 16.2hh 5-year-old chestnut mare (not actually 5 for another few months) by Sir Donnerhall out of a Wolketanz/Fabriano mare. Her dam was awarded the top mare award for her year when she was classified.

‘Dede’ is a once in a lifetime horse – she has breathtaking movement, a wonderful trainable temperament and is super easy to do absolutely anything with. She really does have it all!

She has a truly phenomenal canter, with massive groundcover combined with a super ability to bring her hind leg under herself. Her trot has huge cadence and a natural rhythm and her walk is correct with a good over track.

She has great balance for a young horse and her attitude makes her an incredibly enjoyable ride – she gives her all every day and is nicely forward without getting hot or silly. She has a lovely soft mouth and is very easy in the contact.

Dede is incredibly sweet-natured and loves being around people. She’s easy in every way on the ground and is great to bring in both alone and with other horses.

She’s not mareish – she’ll occasionally squeal at other horses, but doesn’t kick and is incredibly consistent to ride and handle.

She has been hacked over open farmland and on the road and has been very well behaved. She’s great with other animals and with cars driving past. She’s also been on a few outings to lessons and to have a look around at shows and has been really sensible and easy to handle. She hasn’t competed yet, but is ready to make her debut!

Dede is confidently schooling leg yield, smaller circles and lengthened paces and is starting shoulder in and counter canter.

She is incredibly sweet and genuine, however she is a young, sensitive warmblood and will only be sold to an experienced home.

Her owner had comprehensive X-rays (including back) done by Alec Jorgensen (Waikato Vets) in June before sending her to me, which can be made available to interested parties. There were no findings and he considers her X-rays to be low risk.
