Reluctant sale to the best of homes only. Johnny is a true gentleman deserving of someone who wants to learn the ropes of dressage on a safe but fun mount.

Johnny was supposed to be a project horse for a few years but I have kept him for over 7 years due to his incredible personality and willingness to learn. From not knowing how to carry the rider at the sit trot, he is now established in all elementary movements and has started learning flying changes and half pass. He loves to learn and always gives his best. If you want a partner to help you in your riding journey, he’s your guy.

Due to his age, I will not let him go to a heavy competition home. Having said that he is completely sound, showing no signs of his age under saddle. He has only had light work the last few years, and can be ridden immediately after a long break with zero issues. He will even remember the movements you were schooling from a month before! He’s a very good doer - not needing much feed or rugging to keep his condition nicely.

Johnny has helped me teach my 9yo niece to ride (on the lunge only) and is a safe and careful mount. He is more challenging in new environments though, needing a few minutes to settle when away from home, and so some confidence is required of his rider. He would love to get out and about a bit more and would benefit from some trail riding and light competition. He deserves a bit more use and stimulation than he’s been getting.

Only selling because I can only have one horse, and this will enable me to move on to my next, more challenging training project. His price reflects his age not his quality and would be negotiable to the best of homes. Vet check welcome. Please message or phone with any questions or enquiries.
