“Yalambi’s Cavalier”
Sire - Conquistador
Dam - Yalambi’s Siviola
Are you looking for a “been there done that” schoolmaster with all the buttons? Look no further! Jerry Is your horse! Don't be put off by his age, Jerry still has lots to give to his next rider.
Jerry was a Grand Prix show jumper in his former life which is evident when you pop him over a jump…his face lights up with pure joy and he goes into autopilot, seeing a stride well before his rider. The best way to describe him is similar to a self driving car - hold on and Jerry will show you the ropes and carry you safely and competently around a course! Since leaving the high level scene, Jerry has attended pony club, inter schools competitions, clinics, private lessons, low level cross country schooling and trail riding. Alongside his Grand Prix showjumping career, he also competed to Medium dressage! But will happily pop over low level jumps and plod around the lower level dressage tests. As a result of his medium level dressage career, Jerry really does have all the buttons! Shoulder in, travers, leg yields, clean changes, walk canter, and so much more!
Under saddle this lovely gelding doesn’t put a foot wrong, there really isn’t any dirt! No buck/pigroot/bite/rear/etc! He is a “get on and go” type horse that doesn’t need a lunge before a ride, even after a spell, and due to his extensive competitive career, behaves the same off property like he’s been there 100 times before!
Jerry always behaves exceptionally for the farrier/dentist and while he has good ground manners, he is a solid horse that needs to be told no when he’s being pushy! This is never anything nasty, occasionally he will walk where he wants to and forget about the ground rules. Nothing a horsey home couldn’t handle and keep in check.
Jerry would suit a confident rider looking for a horse with all the buttons that can show them the ropes, he really is a “been there done that” type! Due to his age he does have arthritic knees, something that’s treated by supplements and doesn’t impact his ridden career…he simply isn’t a grand prix show jumper anymore (understandably)! So would much better suit a pony club or even adult rider home where he can have a crack at anything and teach his new rider all the essential skills.
Not great to float but otherwise no vices, currently barefoot, teeth, worming and bodywork up to date.
Vet checks welcome - no previous injuries.
Will only be sold to the absolute best of homes and is on the market due to not suiting his current rider who is now looking for something a bit smaller!
Currently in work and ready to be viewed at Mount View Park Equestrian!
