Longview Gateaux
Breed: Arabian pony x Dutch warmblood
Longview Gateaux
Longview Gateau (Gumby) Gumby is a delightful young gelding. He is a genuinely nice ‘person’ to be around. Gumby has the movement and the ‘look at me’ presence to be a seriously competitive performance horse. He also has an easygoing personality - that promises to make him straight forward enough for a junior or amateur to educate and compete.
Bloodlines: Gumby is by Bundeschampionte Golden West who has been a prolific producer of FEI pony competitors and out of a TB mare Dunneaux. Dunneaux has an exceptional temperament and her foals have all been delightfully easy to train. The breeders have retained a filly from Dunneaux for their own children.
Education, handling and behaviour: Gumby is extremely affectionate and is an absolute pleasure to have around. He self loads on the float, stands to be washed and he is easy to catch. Gumby stands to have his feet done without requiring anyone to hold his lead!
When Gumby was gelded and microchipped, the vets commented on how lovely he was to handle. The owner’s four year old son can catch and lead him away from his paddock mates.
Gumby has not shown any separation anxiety and will happily leave his friends or be left behind (within reason.
Longview Memir
Introduction: Longview Memir, known as Mac to his friends, is a charming young horse who oozes personality. He is inquisitive, keen to be part of the action and quick to learn. Mac is very light on his feet and can really move. He has a ‘look at me’ presence and limitless potential to turn his hoof to any discipline.
Bloodlines: Mac is by Bracknell Musketeer, who was an Australian Champion Arabian Pony, and has produced multiple Australian Champions.
Mac’s dam Nosswick Valkyrie has a list of accolades too long to list, however she jumped at Australian Showjumping titles as a young horse, She has competed Elementary dressage, been used by a disabled riding group and multiple Supreme Champion. Valkyrie has consistently been Tasmanian Pinto of the Year both led and ridden. She is one truly amazing mare.
Valkyrie’s competitive career was cut short due to an injury and her first foal was sold to one of Australia’s leading Grand Prix dressage stables. Mac is her second foal.
Education, handling and behaviour: Mac has been extensively handled and is safe and easy to wash, lead, trim feet and take out and about. He has inherited his dam’s wonderful temperament and can even be led around by the owner’s three year old. Mac is farm, pram, kid and dog safe!
He has been raised in a herd environment and is quite independent from his friends when required. He was weaned late to prevent the development of separation anxiety.
The boys:
Feeding and management: Gumby and Mac are currently paddocked and fed a nutritionally balanced diet - their breeder/ owner is an equine nutritionist.
Medical history: They doe not have any medical issues.
Future Rider Suitability: They would suit capable amateurs once they begin their ridden careers. They already have all the necessary ‘Life Skills’ and ground work already established.
Reason for sale: Their owner breeds a few foals a year and sells them to fabulous homes that appreciate foals of this breeding, temperament and trainability.
