Beautiful ‘Smokey’ is offered for sale to an experienced rider and the best of homes only.
15hh stationbred Australian Stockhorse (unreg) burnt buckskin gelding, branded 2018.
EA registered and eligible for dilute registration.
Smokey has spent the last season with his trainer competing out and about, going from an inexperienced young horse to Reserve Champion Novice Dressage horse at Logan Village in just one season.
He puts together a lovely dressage test up to Novice 2.3, with scores to the mid 60s, and has the potential to go much further.
He has been shown in hand, been out to cross country at TEG and Logan Village jumping the 65cm courses and not batting an eye at the water jump, and has been to showjump training at Waterford.
Easy to float, by himself or with other horses, and is the same out as he is at home. Up to date with teeth, feet, Hendra etc. Full set of clean spinal, hock and front feet X-rays available from March of this year.
Smokey is a super friendly fellow, who is genuinely quiet in nature, and who tries his best for you every time. With him still being young, and not having had the best start early in life, he can still very occasionally have reactive moments, though he settles very quickly and moves on. For this reason, he will be sold to an experienced rider only, with a balanced seat, who will take the time to bond with him and keep him feeling safe and confident going forward.
He would be ideal for a confident and kind rider, who can help him through a baby moment if he has one, but who doesn’t want to deal with a hot horse at comps!
He would suit dressage, eventing, ARC, working eq, trail riding etc. He has been worked with cows at his previous property, but has been training strictly English disciplines for the past year.
Smokey’s next owner will be very lucky. He is truly a great horse, with almost a year of professional training and excellent care under his belt, making him ready for his next home.
Smokey is located in Buccan, SE QLD. Vet checks are very welcome. He will not be sold sight unseen.
