Biosecurity Queensland is managing a new Hendra virus case near Mackay after a positive test result was received last night, 27 June 2012. The property manager contacted a veterinarian after discovering the horse was gravely ill on Tuesday, 26 June 2012. After the vet took samples, the horse was euthanased....

Hannah Dodd, from Arcadia NSW, is the youngest member of the Australian Para-equestrian Dressage Team, which has been nominated for the London Paralympics 2012. Hannah was born with Sacral Ageneisis, a rare genetic abnormality, with similar effects to Spina Bifida. Funding for the athlete and horse is provided by the Australian Paralympic Committee and Equestrian Australia, however, other funding for the essential team members needed to support Hannah is not provided....
